Behruz Studio has been operating in Melbourne since 1984 after Behruz moved from his homeland Iran. He learned the history of rug & carpet design as an apprentice there and is now one of Melbourne's most knowledgeable dealers in rugs and carpets and antique textiles.

The business has built a reputation for integrity and customer service in providing goods of unquestionable authenticity and excellence. We have built strong ongoing relationships with designers, decorators, architects and retail clientele.

Behruz has been an innovator in the industry, searching for both new and antique hand woven rugs, carpets and textiles that create excitement. His carpet and textile exhibitions have sparked great public interest and will continue to do so with the new purpose built gallery which opened in January 2007.

The new space is split into three levels. The ground floor is dedicated to displaying the latest of the various collections which are sourced from around the world. The first floor displays hundreds of design samples developed in house which can be custom woven to your desired size, colour and texture. This floor's purpose is to allow creativity for designers to come up with their own individual concepts. The third floor features antique rugs and textiles collected by Behruz on his travels over the past twenty five years.

As well as providing textiles and rugs we also offer a restoration service and have master restorers in house. The conservation and restoration service has been used by The Johnston Collection in East Melbourne and Victorian Government House. We also offer valuation and damage reports.
