STUDIO EXHIBITIONS

*OTHER WORLDS.

In June, 2009 we hosted an exhibition of Tai textiles which belong to private collector Russell Howard. Russell has collected textiles produced by Tai groups living around the border region of North East Laos and Vietnam for over twenty years. This isolated area produces some of the finest and most interesting textiles in the region and when Westerners were allowed entry in the 1990s, Russell was one of first to locate the source of the textiles that had been appearing in the markets of Thailand for over a decade. We invite you to view his collection in the coming weeks when we exhibit some of his collection on our website.

*SAHAR 2009.

In April, 2009 we launched our second Sahar Collection exhibition in house and were very pleased to have the designer of this collection, Haynes Robinson, in Melbourne to introduce his new designs to our friends and clients. The three new collections, Fusion, Fresco and Transition are also hand woven by Tribal Weavers in South West Iran have a more contemporary edge and more details when compared to the Classic Sahar Collection. Silk has been added to this collection to lend a contemporary edge and lustre to the designs.

*SAHAR 2007.

In October 2007 we launched the first Sahar Collection in Australia with an exhibition which was held in our studio. The Sahar collection rugs are designed by American Haynes Robinson and hand woven by Tribal Weavers of South West Iran and the first instalment of the Sahar Classic designs was received well by all. They have remained a well sought after rug design due to their free form design and colour palettes and we have installed these rugs in the most contemporary of interiors and the most traditional.
